In order to preserve the material in the Carl Rosa archive for future generations, the Carl Rosa Trust Ltd aims to raise the profile of a unique and historic Company which played a key part in the history of opera in Britain for almost a century.
The Trust aims to accomplish this in several ways.
* Promoting the name of Carl Rosa by launching exhibitions and conferences and by producing information relating to the Company.
* Safeguarding the future of the unique Carl Rosa archive.
* Raising money through fundraising and grant applications to conserve the material in the collection and make it more widely available to researchers, musicologists and performers by digitalising some of the collection.
* Gathering new material to add to the archive - programmes, ephemera, scores, eye-witness accounts of performances, etc.
* Supporting the next generation of opera singers by, raising sufficient funds to enable us to resume our grant-giving activities.
